Become a Pathfinder
Optional, but strongly recommended: a Pathfinder plays normally and lets FlowUp send their notes on its own. It is the biggest help you can give the project.
What is a Pathfinder?
A player who scouts Forever for everyone. You play as usual; FlowUp notes where quest givers stand, what each quest asks for and how long each level takes, and your notes are sent without you having to think about it. Nothing changes in your game.
How it works
- The FlowUp addon notes your quests while you play.
- After each game session, FlowUp Companion (a small Windows and Linux app) saves a copy of the log and sends it, without your character name or realm.
- We merge everyone's notes and compute the routes, which come back to you in addon updates.
- Your contributor key lets you see and delete what you sent, at any time.
How to become one
1. Install the addon
Download FlowUp, then extract the zip into World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns\ (the folder must be named exactly FlowUp). Start the game, enable FlowUp in the addon list and type /flow.
When FlowUp asks whether it may send your notes by itself while you play, answer Yes: they then go to a FlowUp collector when one is online. It is invisible: nothing in your chat, never in combat or in dungeons. You can change this at any time in the options.
Download the addon v0.6.39 · .zipThe addon only reads the game: it never accepts a quest, never clicks and never acts for you.
2. Install FlowUp Companion (recommended)
A small app for Windows and Linux that sits next to the clock. After each game session it keeps a copy of your FlowUp log and sends it, without your character name or realm. It only reads the addon's save file, like the Warcraft Logs or Raider.IO clients, and only notes in the addon's settings how far your notes got.
Download FlowUp Companion v0.4.0 · Windows + Linux · .zip- Windows: extract the zip, open
FlowUp-Compagnon\Windowsand double-clickInstaller.cmd. If Windows warns you, click "More info" then "Run anyway". In the window, choose Installer et envoyer mes journaux (install and send my logs). - Linux (Wine, Lutris, Steam/Proton, Bottles): extract the zip, then in a terminal
cd FlowUp-Compagnon/Linuxandsh installer.sh. The tray icon needs PyQt6; the installer offers to add it.
The Companion's windows are in French for now: README.txt in the zip translates every button. Your contributor key appears in its window after the first upload.
3. Play, and talk to NPCs
- Starting zones are gold: a new character in Elwynn, Dun Morogh, Teldrassil, Durotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal or a Skyborne zone helps the most.
- Open every quest giver's dialog, even without accepting: FlowUp notes the quests they offer.
- Take the quests you come across, even off-route.
- Something odd? Type
/flow notefollowed by your comment.
No Companion? You can share your notes by copy and paste on the Submit page.
Is it safe?
Yes. The addon reads the game state and never automates anything. The Companion only works with the addon's own files and never touches the game. No character name, realm, account or e-mail address is sent. What is sent.
Not for you?
No problem: FlowUp works the same without the Companion. You can share your notes by hand on the Submit page, or not share at all.
